A short preview
Roskilde is a charming city brimming with beautiful architecture and history. In the middle of the city you’ll find the World Heritage Roskilde Cathedral, the burial place of Denmark's kings and queens through history. The path from the cathedral will lead you through the city park and down to the fjord and harbour. Here you can see ships dating back to the Age of the Vikings at the Viking Ship Museum, or sit and watch the world go by with an ice cream.
Roskilde is alive with music and is home to the big annual music festival,
Roskilde festival. Check events for live music in the park, at the city square, Stændertorvet, for concerts at the music venue Gimle and explore a world of music at the music exploratorium, Ragnarock.
Get ready to shop 'til you drop on the pedestrian high street and shopping centre,
Ro’s Torv, where you'll also find a fitness centre, restaurants and cinema.
Roskilde is part of Zealand’s first National Park, Skjoldungernes Land, which comprises of 170 square kilometers of beautiful nature with fjord, fields and forest.

Take a trip back in time to how they lived in the past at this open air museum, where you can explore several small communities from different ages up-close.
Here you can fight vikings, visit different workshops, sail in a canoe and experience Denmark’s biggest Viking King’s Hall.
The Boserup Forest
Treat yourself to a walk through this magical forest and out to the cliffs overlooking the fjord. Arguably at it's most beautiful in April-May when a carpet of anemones layer the forest floor. There's a fun obstacle course for children, cafe and forest information centre. There are allocated bonfire plots and forest shelters along the fjord.
